FSSAI (FOOD LICENSE)
WHAT IS FSSAI
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is a regulatory body that ensures food safety and hygiene across India. Established under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, it sets quality standards for food products and regulates their manufacture, storage, distribution, sale, and import to ensure they are safe for consumption.
Businesses dealing with food must obtain an FSSAI license, which is classified into:
- Basic Registration – For small businesses (turnover up to ₹12 lakh).
 - State License – For medium businesses (₹12 lakh to ₹20 crore).
 - Central License – For large businesses (above ₹20 crore, including import/export).

An FSSAI license ensures legal compliance, consumer trust, and business growth.
